1. Relaxed Stance

For a student, it is imperative to understand that you can never hope to make people listen to you if you appear fidgety or nervous. You must be relaxed especially if you’re giving a presentation and focus on your group of peers all the while explaining your concept.

2. Making Eye Contact

Many students speak loudly but never make eye contact because of the fear of attention etc. but as long as you don’t make eye contact, nobody is going to listen to you or even regard you as significant or important. Hence try to make eye contact to overcome your shyness. A better way to master this is by standing in front of a mirror in the privacy of your room and speaking to your reflection. It might seem stupid but it is an effective method in overcoming your fear!

3. Speak Loudly and Clearly

If you want to speak perfectly or don’t have command over your basic language then it’s best to start reading as much as you can. Watch movies with subtitles, and then without subtitles to understand the wording and the way speaking has been done. Listen to audio tapes and practice them out loud. Read blogs and try to engage in classroom as much as you can as this will help in getting rid of your fear as well as provide you with the confidence boost you need.
